‘Next’, Albed’s collection of flush hinged doors, has been expanded with a new version featuring rounded corners: ‘Next Round’ designed by architect Simone Micheli. Next has always been one of the most appreciated and adaptable solutions in the Albed catalog, ideal both for quietly integrating with architecture and for giving life to more aesthetic solutions, thanks to the wide range of finishes – from wood essences to lacquers and glass – and decorations – boiserie and silk-screening. Always coplanar to the wall, and seamless on both sides too, Next is available full-height and with custom width.
The collection also allows the addition of magnetic locks, soundproofing, fireproofing, draught excluders and safety glass, including the double one, to further improve acoustic and thermal insulation between spaces and optimize its placement in projects. The new Next Round version, designed by Simone Micheli, maintains all the distinctive features of the collection, but with a softer design and a decorative, contemporary aesthetic. The radiusing of the upper corners is possible thanks to the installation of a curved aluminum profile in the wall or plasterboard. Thanks to a barely noticeable graphic sign, Next Round is thus transformed and proposes a concept halfway between a door and an arch.
“There is a slogan that can sum up my creative thinking and that fits well with the door product,” says Simone Micheli, “Translating the complexity of our present into simplicity. The door system emphasizes the beauty of surfaces, to realize that there is no need for the superfluous.”
